In this animated series, Jaden Yuki, a skilled young duelist, attends Duel Academy, a prestigious school for aspiring duelists. Alongside his friends, Jaden faces various challenges, including the threat of the Shadow Riders who seek to revive powerful cards that could destroy the world. The main cast also battles against the Society of Light, a cult-like organization that aims to brainwash humanity. Throughout the series, Jaden discovers his unique ability to communicate with Duel Spirits and becomes embroiled in a larger conflict involving the Supreme King and Yubel, a corrupted duel monster.
