Winter Begonia

In 1930s Beiping, Shang Xirui, a talented Peking opera performer, faces opposition from locals but refuses to give up on his dreams. He meets wealthy businessman Cheng Fengtai, who becomes an avid supporter after being captivated by Xirui's performance. They collaborate to promote Peking opera, and their friendship blossoms. When the Japanese army invades Beiping in 1937, they must protect their beloved art and country, leading them to take up arms and make sacrifices. Directed by Hui Kai Dong and based on the novel by Shui Ru Tian Er, "Winter Begonia" is a historical drama that explores the power of art and friendship during times of turmoil.
