This Is England '88 takes place during Christmas 1988 and follows the lives of Lol (Vicky McClure) and Woody (Joe Gilgun) two and a half years after the events of the previous film. Both are struggling to cope with their lives without each other, with Lol carrying the burden of her guilt and Woody trying to build a domestic life with a new girlfriend and potential promotion at work.
