In ancient China, a young woman named Shen Yi Yi disguises herself as a man to attend a prestigious school in place of her deceased friend. Alongside four other students, each with their own secrets and motives, they form a unique bond and embark on a series of adventures to uncover the truth behind a mysterious case, while navigating corrupt officials and dangerous obstacles. As they learn to trust and rely on each other, they become known as the "Five Sons of Shangyi Guan" and work together to bring peace to the kingdom.
