Spin City follows the personal and professional lives of the staff at City Hall, led by Deputy Mayor Mike Flaherty (Michael J. Fox), as they navigate the ups and downs of politics and their own personal struggles. With a diverse and quirky cast of characters, including a press secretary with a knack for getting into trouble (Richard Kind), a sexist and self-absorbed chief of staff (Alan Ruck), a gay black man in charge of minority affairs (Michael Boatman), a timid speechwriter (Alexander Chaplin), and a confident and free-spirited accountant (Connie Britton), the show explores the challenges of working in local government while also juggling personal relationships and office politics. As they work to improve the mayor's image and cover up his mistakes, the staff at City Hall must also contend with their own personal demons, including insecurities, love triangles, and family drama.
