In the gritty drama series Scúp, a former journalist returns home to Belfast after being fired from his job at The Guardian due to a phone hacking scandal. He's tasked with turning around a failing Irish language newspaper, but quickly discovers that the publication is mired in propaganda and debt. With the help of a young photographer and a team of determined reporters, he must navigate the treacherous waters of the newspaper business while also confronting the dark underbelly of the city's criminal underworld.
