In a virtual reality game where players can be anyone and do anything, one player named Momonga refuses to log out when the game is shut down. He finds himself trapped in a world where NPCs have come to life and he is now a powerful skeleton wizard. With no family, friends, or place in society, Momonga must fight to survive and rule in this new world that has become his reality.
