In a world where magic and technology collide, a young woman named DG finds herself transported from her mundane life in Kansas to a strange and dangerous land known as the O.Z. (Outer Zone). Here, she discovers that she has a special connection to the mystical Emerald of the Eclipse, which the tyrannical sorceress Azkadellia will stop at nothing to possess. Joined by a group of unlikely allies, including a brain-damaged former advisor to the Queen, a shapeshifting dog, a cybernetic law enforcer, and a telepathic viewer, DG must navigate treacherous landscapes and battle against Azkadellia's army of Longcoats and bat-winged monkey "mobats" to uncover her lost memories, find her true parents, and foil Azkadellia's plot to trap the O.Z. in eternal darkness. Along the way, she discovers that she is the sister of Azkadellia and the daughter of the Queen, and must confront the dark secrets of her family's past in order to save the O.Z. and herself.
