Takashi Natsume has always been different - he can see spirits that no one else can. But when he inherits his grandmother's mysterious book, he discovers why. The book is a collection of names of spirits that his grandmother had bullied into servitude, and now they're after him. With the help of a mischievous cat spirit, Madara, and a human exorcist, Natori, Takashi must dissolve the contracts and release the spirits before they're used for evil purposes. But with powerful forces against him, will he be able to protect the book and himself?
