In the city of Pátzcuaro, a beautiful young woman named Nora lives a life full of dreams and admiration from others. However, her stepmother, Isaura, sells her to the richest man in town, Heriberto, with the complicity of Nora's lover, Alfredo. In defense of her honor, Nora hurts Heriberto and moves to Morelia to live with her aunt, Alejandra. There, she meets Arturo, a man who promises to marry her after going abroad for a job as a pilot. However, Arturo meets Paulina and spends a night with her before returning to Mexico and confessing his infidelity to Nora. Nora, feeling betrayed, dedicates herself to her unborn child and remakes her life as a tough woman seeking revenge on Arturo, the man she cannot stop loving.
