Ming Dynasty: Season 1

In 1402, the first year of the Yongle Emperor's reign, a young woman named Sun Ruo Wei's family is brutally executed on the emperor's orders. only she escapes death and is adopted by a noble man named Sun Zhong. Determined to seek revenge, Sun Ruo Wei becomes the concubine of the crown prince Zhu Zhan Ji, but soon realizes the danger of her actions and decides to abandon her vengeful plans. Instead, she focuses on becoming a virtuous empress who can support her husband in times of hardship. As fate would have it, Zhu Zhan Ji passes away after a decade on the throne, and Sun Ruo Wei becomes Empress Dowager when her young son ascends to the throne. Will she be able to put aside her desire for revenge and help ensure the future of the dynasty?
