MIKE is a creation by screenwriter Steven Rogers, the team behind the film "I, Tonya," and showrunner Karin Gist, who is also a producer on the series "Our Kind of People." It explores the wild, tragic, and controversial life and career of Mike Tyson, one of the most polarizing figures in sports culture. The eight-part miniseries delves into the turbulent highs and lows of Tyson's boxing career and personal life - from being a world-renowned athlete to a pariah and back again. With Mike Tyson at its center, the series examines issues of class in America, race in America, fame and media power. It also delves into themes such as misogyny; wealth disparities; the promise of American Dream; and finally our own role in shaping Mike's story. While this story is inspired by true events some characters; incidents; locations (and) dialogues have been dramatized for television.
