Rick Spleen (Jack Dee) is a struggling stand-up comedian who can't seem to catch a break. With the help of his partner Mel (Raquel Cassidy) and American co-writer Marty (Sean Power), Rick tries to navigate the ups and downs of his career, all while dealing with his eccentric family and friends. But despite his best efforts, things often don't go as planned, leaving Rick to face the harsh realities of his own mediocrity.
