In the sprawling city of São Paulo, two sisters, Mari and Danda, grow up in the working-class community of Paraisópolis. While Mari dreams of a better life through education and hard work, Danda is content with her vain lifestyle. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Benjamin, an architect from the luxurious neighborhood of Morumbi, falls in love with Mari and becomes entangled in the community's struggles. As Benjamin's family, who owns a construction company, seeks to redevelop Paraisópolis, the siblings must navigate their own ambitions and desires amidst the conflicting interests of their communities.
