Há dez anos atrás, um grupo de cientistas realizou experiências no túmulo de Gilgamesh no “Heaven's Gate”. As pesquisas do Heaven's Gate foram abruptamente interrompidas, um terrorista se chamando Enkidu iniciou um incidente chamado Twin X que transformou o céu da Terra em um enorme espelho chamado Sheltering Sky. No presente, dois irmãos são perseguidos por Yakuzas. Resgatados pelos membros da equipe de Gilgamesh até que três crianças surgem e levam eles para um motel. Lá conhecem a condessa Werdenberg. Eles descobrem que a equipe de Gilgamesh e as crianças, possuem um poder psíquico chamado Dynamis. Uma vez que eles estão presos entre os dois lados, serão forçados a escolher em que lado acreditar.
