In this Korean drama series, a modern-day doctor is kidnapped and taken back in time to the Goryeo dynasty to save the life of a fatally injured queen. The warrior who brings her back promises to return her to her own time, but a scheming royal advisor persuades the king to keep her as a useful asset. As the doctor accustoms herself to her new surroundings, she and the warrior fall in love, but their relationship is complicated by political power plays and attempts on her life. The warrior must constantly risk his life to protect her and thwart those who seek to possess her. The series explores themes of love, loyalty, and survival as the characters navigate their way through the challenges of their respective times.
