What is Tamas about? Toggle content

In the midst of communal tensions, a innocent man, Nathu, is caught up in a web of violence and deceit. He is asked to kill a pig for medical purposes, but the carcass ends up being used to spark violence between Muslims and Sikhs. As the situation escalates, Nathu's sense of guilt and responsibility grows, leading him to question his own role in the chaos. Meanwhile, a group of Sikhs, including Harnam Singh and his wife Banto, are forced to flee their home and seek shelter in a nearby village. There, they encounter Ehsan Ali, a Muslim friend of Harnam Singh's who offers them refuge. However, their safety is short-lived as they are soon discovered and forced to leave. As violence continues to spread, Nathu and the Sikhs are faced with impossible choices, ultimately leading to a tragic conclusion. Will they be able to find peace in a world torn apart by hate?
