Calypso

In the picturesque Caribbean island of Calypso, a beautiful young woman named Maria Margarita, "la Bella," is crowned queen of the festivities on the day of San Salvador, but she and her sister, Margarita Luisa, "la Grande," are both struggling with their own personal heartaches. La Grande has lost the man she was supposed to marry, Ernesto Lopez, to the sea, while la Bella must say goodbye to Mariano Gonzalez, a teacher she has fallen in love with. While la Grande is at the seashore, she rescues a man named Simon Vargas from the sea, and a unique and romantic relationship blossoms between them. As la Bella also becomes enamored with Simon, a bitter love triangle ensues between the two sisters and the castaway.
