De affyrer McDonaghs suveræne replikker som harpuner og jonglerer med stille selvransagelse og flammende hævntørst, uden at det virker skizofrent. Og uden at det vækker andet end latter og bedrøvelse, gerne på samme tid.

Vi får præsenteret personerne fuldstændig usminket og må selv tage stilling, både til deres mere menneskelige sider og til de ubehagelige. Alligevel og netop derfor er budskabet klart og tydeligt.
