Is it real? Is this whole story real? I refuse to ask that question. "Life of Pi" is all real, second by second and minute by minute, and what it finally amounts to is left for every viewer to decide.

The story is gripping, and the first-time performance by the actor playing the teenage Pi (...) is graceful and effortless, especially in light of him being the only human being onscreen for nearly half the film.

Ang Lee's adaptation of Yann Martel's novel (...) is the summation of the principle powering his career: still waters run deep.

Life of Pi' er et eminent arbejde på de tekniske fronter, og den fotografiske detaljering gør, at man glemmer alt andet end at overleve de 227 dage med Pi.
