Hercules - Reviews

...the film excels where audience members buying a ticket will want it to. The battle scenes are chock full of fun and creativity, almost guaranteed to put a smile on any action lovers face’s.

Unsurprisingly, Johnson makes for a perfect movie-star Hercules, and the film gets a lot of mileage by playing his charismatic-but-modest take on the character off of the strong, predominantly British cast.

Shot acrobatically and also mostly coherently, these action bits are entertaining in the way you might expect.

...a big-budget adventure indebted more to cornier sword-and-sandal movies of yesteryear than the exaggerated bloodshed and sepia-toned abs of 300 and its countless knock-offs...

...Hercules’ battles are impressively practical: good ol’ fashioned human-on-human rough-housing with only minor digital augmentation.

...ideen med at se Hercules som mand frem for halvgud er god, og med sympatiske Dwayne »The Rock« Johnson med de overnaturlige muskler i titelrollen, hepper vi på ham hele vejen frem til den episke slutning, der ikke får for lidt!
