As far as coming-of-age musicals go, “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” sends a charming, feel-good message of self-acceptance.

...wins you over in spite of itself.

...it has plenty of moments of joy.

...wears its feelgood message of acceptance and empowerment as proudly and showily as young Jamie wears his glitter heels and falsies.

The broad characterisation, dialogue and scene transitions probably worked better on stage, but they give a bounce to this feelgood Britfilm version...

There's not a mistimed step to be seen.
