I have decided to award three stars to "Despicable Me 2." Besides, the Evil Film Critic has to win sometimes.

In the most basic sense, Despicable Me 2 reproduces its predecessor’s winning formula.

Resilient in its daftness, reliable in its silliness, Despicable Me is on the threshold of franchise-status with this likable sequel.

Gru still has charm and kids will adore the Minions.
