Being the Ricardos - Reviews

...Aaron Sorkin couldn't have picked a subject much riper for exploring than I Love Lucy, a show so woven into the DNA of pop culture it's surprising no one has ever seriously taken it on before.

What makes Being The Ricardos such a good biopic is that it’s not just a soup-to-nuts life story.

...it’s a brilliant performance; witty, fierce and technical.

...the whip-smart drama packs years of turmoil into one compelling week in the lives of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

...addictive, movie magic. 

...the cast does an impressive job, with Kidman and Bardem nailing Ball and Arnaz's voices and mannerisms...

...Kidman captures Ball’s essence – equal parts perky and plucky – in a way that feels authentic.

Det är intensivt och snabbkäftat från start. Men så står också Aaron Sorkin vid spakarna.

Att Aaron Sorkin sitter med ett leende på läpparna när han får chansen att gestalta ”det gamla goda Hollywood” är uppenbart från minut ett.

Filmen fungerer godt både som interessant tv-historie (...) og underholdende backstage-drama på en tv-produktion...

...en stilig, välsmord nostalgifest för en lite äldre publik, med en utmärkt rollista där Nina Arianda är mest minnesvärd som skådespelaren Vivian Vance...
