The Mask of Zorro tells the story of an aging hero, Don Diego de la Vega, who recruits a young and fiery bandit, Alejandro Murrieta, to be his successor in the fight against injustice and tyranny in 19th century California. With the help of his loyal servant, Fray Felipe, Don Diego transforms Alejandro into the legendary masked hero Zorro, teaching him the ways of honor, courage, and swordplay. Together they embark on a dangerous mission to stop the evil plans of Governor Rafael Montero who seeks to buy California from Mexico's President Santa Anna. Along the way they encounter fierce opposition from Montero's henchmen and must use their wits and bravery to outsmart them.
