What is Youth about? 
Youth is a movie about two old friends, Fred and Mick, who are on vacation in the Swiss Alps. Fred is a retired composer, and Mick is a film director still working on his latest project. They reflect on their lives and admit that their memories are fading, but they find a new lease of life when an emissary from Queen Elizabeth II asks Fred to perform his popular piece "Simple Song #3" at Prince Philip's birthday concert. However, Mick's screenplay is rejected by aging diva Brenda Morel, who has starred in eleven of his previous films. Disheartened, Mick commits suicide by jumping off a balcony in front of his friends. The movie explores themes of aging, memory loss, and the importance of creative pursuits in life.
