Som en rent stilmæssig fornøjelse er der meget at sætte pris på i instruktør Todd Haynes’ nyeste film. Visuelt ligner Wonderstruck nemlig en krydsning af en independent-film fra 1970’erne og et nyopdaget værk fra stumfilm-æraens afslutning.
