Warlock

In 1691 Boston, a witch-hunter named Giles Redferne captures an evil warlock who is sentenced to death for his crimes, including the murder of Redferne's wife. However, Satan intervenes and propels the warlock forward in time to 1989 Los Angeles. Redferne follows the warlock through the portal and tries to stop him from reassembling "The Grand Grimoire," a book that can unmake creation. The warlock murderers a fake psychic and uses her eyes as a compass to find the first piece of the Grimoire hidden in an antique table at Kassandra's flat. He also places an aging curse on Kassandra and takes her bracelet. Redferne arrives with a "witch compass" and explains basic rules of witches and warlocks, such as their weakness to purified salt. Kassandra follows Redferne to regain her bracelet, which will allow her to become young again. The warlock acquires the power of flight by murdering an unbaptized child and Redferne and Kassandra pursue him to a rural Mennonite family's home where the second piece of the Grimoire is located. After a battle, the Warlock attempts to fly away but is struck down by a weathervane made of cold iron. They attempt to bind him with manacles but the Warlock escapes on foot. Redferne gives Kassandra a blessed hammer and she hammers nails into the Warlock's footprints, causing him agony. They follow the Warlock via train to Boston and recover Kassandra's bracelet, restoring her youth at the cost of injuring their ally. The final piece of Grimoire is supposed to be buried in a graveyard. They arrive at church, warning the priest that the Warlock is coming for it. They find Redferne's coffin upon arriving at the graveyard and break it open to get the grimoire. The warlock arrives threatening to kill Kassandra unless Redferene gives him back the book. Redferene carries onto hallowed ground but the Warlock refuses unfair combat and gains advantage. He flings Cassandra into a lake and he and Refderene fight. The Warlock gains advantage and cheats by using his magic, and before he can use the Grimonire to say God's name in reverse order, Cassandra stabs him in neck with a saline syringe filled with salt water from the lake. The Warlcok's throat seals shut and he burst into flames. Finally, Refderene returns to his time, while Cassandra buries th Grimonire in the Bonneville Salt Flats
