In the quirky comedy "Waiting for April," a bumbling detective named Haffigan is tasked with solving a mysterious case involving a magical singing bone. Along his journey, he crosses paths with a charming but elusive actor named Mithridate who possesses an unusual physical attribute - a gorilla's right arm. Haffigan finds himself smitten with Mithridate, but his affections are unrequited. Instead, Mithridate sets his sights on Eleonore, a cashier at the Bank of Permanent Fog, who promises to help him break free from the bone's curse.
