The Contractor

The Contractor (2022) is an action-thriller movie that follows the story of James Harper (played by Chris Pine), a decorated Green Beret who is involuntarily discharged from the army due to his use of illegal steroids. Facing financial ruin, Harper joins a private military company under the command of fellow veteran Rusty Jennings. The team is sent on a mission to Germany to surveil a Middle Eastern scientist named Salim, who is suspected of working for Al-Qaeda and developing a bio-agent. The team easily accesses the lab and acquires the data, but Harper is ordered to finish Salim, who protests that he is just a scientist working on a cure. Harper follows orders but later discovers that the mission was a set-up for him to be killed. Harper returns to the United States and sets out to get revenge on Rusty and his team, who have been lying to him and trying to eliminate him. With the help of his friend Mike, Harper infiltrates Rusty's compound and manages to terminate Rusty before returning to his family.
