Veteran follows the story of a maverick detective, Seo Do-cheol, who is determined to bring down a ruthless young executive, Jo Tae-oh, who is also the heir to a powerful corporation. Sinjin Group. When Tae-oh's actions become too much for Do-cheol to handle, he takes matters into his own hands and personally begins the investigation, despite the backlash he faces from his superiors. As the investigation unfolds, Do-cheol faces numerous obstacles, including attempts on his life, but he refuses to back down. With the help of his team, he uncovers evidence that links Tae-oh to various crimes, including the murder of a truck driver who had protested against the conglomerate. The film culminates in an intense car chase and hand-to-hand combat between Do-cheol and Tae-oh, resulting in the latter's arrest and eventual sentencing to prison.
