Veronika Decides to Die

Veronika Decides to Die is a movie that tells the story of a young woman named Veronika who, despite having a seemingly successful life, is depressed and feels unfulfilled. She attempts suicide, but fails and ends up in a mental asylum where she learns that she has only weeks to live due to an aneurysm caused by her suicide attempt. Despite this devastating news, Veronika finds renewed purpose in life through her love for music and her connection with a schizophrenic patient named Edward. Together, they escape the asylum and determine to make the most of Veronika's remaining days. However, what Veronika doesn't know is that her aneurysm is actually a ruse created by her unorthodox psychiatrist Dr. Blake, who is testing his theory that convincing her she has only weeks to live will restore her health and cure her desire to commit suicide. The movie explores themes of depression, suicide, love, and the meaning of life, and features a talented cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jonathan Tucker, Erika Christensen, and Melissa Leo.
