In the cutthroat world of show business, three young women pursue their dreams of fame and fortune, but find themselves caught in a web of alcohol, pills, and betrayal. Anne, a naive New Englander, becomes a secretary at a theatrical agency, where she falls in love with attorney Lyon Burke. Neely, a dynamic singer, skyrockets to fame, but her addiction to "dolls" ruins her career and personal life. Jennifer, a stunning beauty, turns to soft-core pornography to pay the bills after her husband is institutionalized with a hereditary illness. As the women's lives spiral out of control, they must confront the harsh realities of the industry they once adored. Will they find a way to escape the Valley of the Dolls, or will they succumb to its toxic allure?
