Uncle Frank

Uncle Frank is a movie that follows the story of a man named Frank Bledsoe, who is a college professor in New York City. In 1973, his 18-year-old niece Beth moves from Creekville, South Carolina to attend college in New York City and live with Frank. Beth discovers that Frank is secretly gay and has been living with his partner Walid ("Wally") for over ten years. When Beth's grandfather and Frank's father, Daddy Mac, dies suddenly, Frank agrees to drive Beth back to South Carolina for the funeral. Wally joins them on the trip despite Frank's initial reluctance. Along the way, Frank struggles with memories of his teenage years and a sexual relationship he had with another boy named Samuel, which led to his father cutting him out of his inheritance and exposing his homosexuality to the family. As they journey south, tensions between Wally and Frank build until they ultimately come to a head when they reach their destination at Creekville lake where they discover that one person has been missing since their last visit three decades earlier...
