Uma

Uma is a Bengali drama film that tells the story of a father's attempt to create a fake Durga Puja festival for his dying daughter, who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Despite the challenges and obstacles they face, the father and his team work tirelessly to make the girl's dream come true. Along the way, they encounter a variety of characters, including a failed director who sees this as his opportunity to create a masterpiece, a Bihari goon who threatens to shoot the father, and a woman who agrees to play the role of the girl's mother. As the day of Dashami arrives, the crew finds out that there are no junior artists available, but they eventually manage to find a solution with the help of the Bihari goon. The film is based on true events surrounding the life and death of Evan Leversage, who lived in St George in Ontario, Canada.
