Time and the Wind tells the epic story of two families, the Terra Cambará and the Amaral, who are sworn enemies in a small town in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, during the 19th century. Their struggles span 150 years, from the time of the Jesuit Missions to the end of the century, and are intertwined with the formation of the state and the dispute between the Portuguese and Spanish crowns.
