Throw Momma from the Train

Throw Momma from the Train is a dark comedy film about two men, Owen Lift (Danny DeVito) and Larry Donner (Billy Crystal), who are fed up with their respective mothers and conspire to kill each other's mother. Owen is a timid man who lives with his overbearing and abusive mother, while Larry is a struggling novelist whose ex-wife took credit for his work and left him. The two men meet in a creative writing class taught by Larry, and Owen becomes inspired by the Hitchcock film Strangers on a Train, which they discuss in class. They hatch a plan to "exchange" murders, with Owen killing Larry's ex-wife and Larry killing Owen's mother. However, things do not go as planned, and the film takes unexpected turns as the characters navigate their complicated relationships with their mothers and each other.
