A young boy named Sang-woo is forced to spend the summer with his mute, yet patient and hardworking grandmother in the countryside while his mother searches for a new job in the city. Despite his initial reluctance and disdain for the rural life, Sang-woo gradually develops a deep bond with his grandmother as he learns to appreciate the simple joys of country living and the love and care she shows him. As their relationship deepens, Sang-woo learns valuable lessons about family, friendship, and love, ultimately revealing a heartwarming and emotional connection between generations.
