Værket er et spøjst bekendtskab; ikke nok med, at kroatiske film ikke ofte finder vej til de danske biografer, så er fortællingen samtidig en kulsort komedie om et både relevant og alvorligt emne.

What is The Priest's Children about? Toggle content

Don Fabijan (Krešimir Mikić), a young priest, comes to serve on a small island in the Adriatic where the population is declining due to low birth rates. Determined to help, he secretly teams up with Petar (Nikša Butijer), the newsagent, and Marin (Dražen Kühn), the pharmacist, to sabotage all forms of birth control on the island by poking holes in condoms and replacing pills with vitamins. Their plan works, and the island experiences a baby boom. However, with unplanned pregnancies and unexpected consequences, things quickly spiral out of control. The film explores themes of faith, tradition, and the unintended effects of well-meaning actions.
