"The Miner" is a powerful historical drama based on a true story, set in 2009 Slovenia. For 30 years, Alija, a Bosnian immigrant, has worked as a miner, facing dangerous conditions. When the mine is shut down, Alija is tasked with checking an abandoned mine, but what he discovers will change everything. Hidden deep within the mine, he finds proof of mass executions from World War II, including women and civilians, like his own missing sister. Determined to bring justice to the victims and their families, Alija risks his job and dignity to uncover the truth. But the mine's ownership and the authorities are not interested in disturbing the past, leaving Alija to face a difficult decision. Will he stand up for what's right, even if it means sacrificing everything he's worked for?
