The Milk of Sorrow tells the story of Fausta, a young Peruvian woman living with a rare disease transmitted through her mother's breast milk, which has left her with a deep-seated fear of men and rape. After her mother's sudden death, Fausta must confront her fears and the harsh realities of her life, including the potato she has placed in her vagina as a protective measure. As she navigates her new life, Fausta finds solace in her talent for songwriting and an unexpected friendship with a wealthy pianist.
