The Man from the Sea

In the coastal city of Banda Aceh, Indonesia, a man is discovered washed up on the beach, unable to remember his past and speaking in broken Indonesian and Japanese. Atsuko and her son Takashi, two Japanese aid workers, take him in and name him Rau, which means "sea" in Indonesian. As Rau begins to help with the local reconstruction efforts, strange and inexplicable events start to occur, leading some to believe he is connected to miracles. But as the truth about Rau's identity begins to surface, the community must confront their own beliefs and the power of hope.
