The Magic of Ordinary Days

Set during World War II, "The Magic of Ordinary Days" tells the story of Livy, a young woman who finds herself pregnant out of wedlock and is forced by her father to marry a man she doesn't know. Ray, a kind and patient farmer, agrees to marry Livy despite their differences. As they navigate their new life together, Livy struggles to adapt to the rural way of living and Ray's quiet nature. Through friendships with Japanese American internees and her sister-in-law, Livy begins to see the value in the simple life led by those around her. When the father of her child returns, Livy must choose between her old life and the new family she has created with Ray. Will she stay with the man she has come to love or return to her old life?
