In this surreal sci-fi western, Kaspar Hauser, a mysterious young man with royal ties, washes up on a deserted beach and is forced to confront the evil Grand Duchess who rules over the community. The Sheriff, also played by Vincent Gallo, sees Kaspar as the messiah and teaches him to DJ, but the Duchess dispatches The Pusher, also played by Gallo, to eliminate the threat. The film unfolds through extended, single-shot chapters with minimal dialogue and a stark black-and-white backdrop. With pulsating rhythms by Vitalic, this Italian adaptation offers a fresh take on the legendary tale.
