The King's Letters

In 15th century Korea, King Sejong embarks on a quest to create a writing system that can be read and written by all his people, despite opposition from powerful courtiers who seek to maintain their grip on knowledge and power. Secretly enlisting the help of a Buddhist monk and his fellow monks, Sejong risks his health and reputation to bring literacy to the masses. As tensions rise between Buddhists and Confucians, the king must confront the consequences of his actions and choose between fulfilling his promise to the monks or placating the powerful elite. Will his legacy be a symbol of hope and enlightenment, or a tool for oppression and control?
