The Innocent is a comedy-crime-romance film about Sylvie, a prison theater teacher teacher who falls in love with Michel, a thug she marries in prison. Their dream of starting a flower shop together is met with disapproval from Sylvie’s son Abel, who is convinced that Michel will fall into a life of crime. Abel recruits Clémence to help him spy on Michel, but their attempts prove fruitless. Eventually, Abel is drawn into Michel's scheme to steal caviar from a truck driver, leading to a series of unexpected events that test the boundaries of family, loyalty, and love.
