The Hammer

At 40, Jerry Ferro's life is going nowhere. A construction worker and part-time boxing instructor, he's lost his job and his girlfriend. But when he's asked to spar with an up-and-coming boxer, he unexpectedly knocks him out with a single punch. Despite his age and lack of shape, Jerry decides to train for the Olympic tryouts, inspired by his friend Oswaldo and attractive lawyer Lindsay. But coach Eddie Bell sees Jerry as nothing more than a sparring partner for his top contender, Robert Brown. As Jerry and Brown face off in the ring, Jerry must decide what's truly important to him - boxing glory or the people he's come to care about.
