Amidst the tumultuous Soviet Ukraine of the 1930s, a chance encounter between an American boy named Peter and a blind minstrel named Ivan changes their lives forever. After Peter's father is killed, he escapes his pursuers by joining Ivan, who becomes his guide and mentor. As they journey through the dangerous landscape, they face numerous challenges and enemies, but their bond grows stronger. Will they be able to outrun their pursuers and find safety, or will their journey end in tragedy?
