The Air I Breathe

The Air I Breathe is a crime thriller that follows the lives of five individuals as their paths intersect in unexpected ways. The film is based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow, and love. The story takes place on the urban streets of Los Angeles, where we meet Forest Whitaker's character, a meek bank employee who loves butterflies. When he overhears a conversation about a fixed horse race, he decides to bet $50,000, borrowing from a bookie named Fingers (Garcia). Unfortunately, he loses the bet, and Fingers threatens him while his mob enforcer, Brendan Fraser, visits him to collect. Desperate, the bank employee robs his own bank, but is killed by the police while trying to escape. Meanwhile, Brendan Fraser's character has a tragic past and an ability to see the future of the people he meets. He joins Fingers' gang and becomes one of his favorites due to his ability. However, he cannot see the future of Trista (Sarah Michelle Gellar), a somewhat morose up-and-coming pop singer/dancer who is assigned to look after Fingers' visiting nephew Tony. Tony gets into trouble when he leaves a club with a girl who is high on drugs; they struggle over a gun and an older mobster gets shot. Brendan Fraser rescues Tony and they run from the henchmen, ending at the fence of an earlier vision. Unfortunately, Brendan Fraser gets caught and severely beaten by the henchmen, but is later treated by Dr. Love (Bacon) at a hospital. Sarah Michelle Gellar's character, Trista , is deeply indebted to fingers, escapes from him, meeting Pleasure (a TV interviewer played by Jon Bernthal). They become lovers but soon fingers finds out about her location ad kill Pleasure causing Trista more sorrow. Kevin Bacon plays Dr .Love , who is in a relationship with his longtime friend Gina(Julie Delpy) but never confessed his love . Gina get bitten by a poisonous snake ad needs a rare type of blood . Dr. Love races to location where Trista is filming interview to find her blood type which is same as Gina 's . Trista 's assistant tries to help her run away while Dr. Love runs to her . Her bodyguards thinking he is crazed fan grab him , while Trista accidentally knocked down and ends up in hospital . When she awakens , Fingers inform her that she will have to abort the baby she is carrying and in her sorrow she sneaks out roof to jump off commit suicide .Dr. love sees her and races up in time sees her step off ledge
