In the heart of the Amazon rainforest, a young anthropologist named Eliott embarks on a journey to study the elusive Otopis tribe. But as he delves deeper into the jungle, he realizes that the Otopis are not the peaceful inhabitants he had imagined. Alcoholic, violent, and corrupt, they turn his expedition into a living nightmare. Eliott's possessive mother, Chantal, a renowned ethnologist, sets out to find her son, accompanied by the unhelpful Lieutenant-Commander Raspailles and his men. As they navigate the treacherous jungle, they must confront their own demons and the harsh realities of the tribe they sought to study. Will they be able to find Eliott and escape the jungle alive, or will they become its latest victims?
